HIGH EXPECTATIONS FOLLOW HERZOG JACKSON
MOTORSPORTS
TO LONE STAR STATE
TEAM SENDS MESSAGE OF SUPPORT TO TROOPS
IN MIDDLE EAST
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (March 24, 2003) – Every
weekend in the NASCAR Busch and Winston Cup season, fans around
the country drive hundreds of miles to attend races or sit
diligently in front of their TV's watching one of the greatest
and truly American sports. This weekend will be no different
as the NASCAR Busch Series heads to Texas Motor Speedway (TMS),
known to many as "The Great American Speedway."
As war takes place in the Middle East, Herzog
Jackson Motorsports wants to send a message of support and
thanks to the young men and women fighting to protect our
freedom and way of life. "People think racecar drivers
are brave because we risk our lives to do what we love and
drive at speeds over 200 mph," stated Todd Bodine of
the No. 92 Herzog Jackson Motorsports Chevrolet, "but
the real heroes are the men and women who are fighting in
the Middle East and risking their lives to protect us. It's
times like these that we need to show our support to the people
who protect our freedom so that we can do the things we love."
Coming off a successful weekend at Bristol
(Tenn.) Motor Speedway where the No. 92 posted a top-ten finish,
the Herzog Jackson Motorsports team is looking forward to
heading west. With four top-ten finishes, two top-fives, and
a victory on their list of accomplishments this season alone,
the organization is feeling confident about their chances
at Texas's one and a half-mile speedway.
Bodine, who currently sits atop the Busch
Series driver's points race, has had a good amount of success
at Texas. With only five starts under his belt at TMS in the
Busch Series, Bodine has two top-five finishes, finishing
fourth in both 1997 and 2000. In only his second pairing with
Herzog Jackson Motorsports at the speedway, he feels his chances
of finishing in the top-five are more than good.
"This team has been consistent all season,"
stated Bodine. "My crew has been the reason that we have
finished as high as we have. Each week they have brought a
car that has been able to run at the front of the pack, which
makes my job a whole lot easier. I am definitely looking forward
to running at Texas and hopefully getting another strong finish
for Herzog Jackson Motorsports."
The Chevrolet Monte Carlo that crew chief
Tony "Rambo" Liberati and team have prepared was
last utilized at Kansas Speedway in the fall of 2002, where
it led the race until it was involved in an accident on lap
38.
Live television coverage of the O'Reilly 300 will begin at
2:00 pm EST on FOX. PRN Radio will also broadcast the event
beginning at 2:00 pm EST.
