FEDEWA AND EXCEDRIN QUICKTABS RACING TEAM LOOKING FORWARD TO SECOND RACE TOGETHER

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 16, 2002) - It's week number two for Tim Fedewa and the Excedrin QuickTabs Racing team.  The team was impressive last weekend at Lowe's (Concord, N.C.) Motor Speedway in Fedewa's debut behind the wheel of the No. 92 Chevrolet.  After being forced to take a provisional starting position, the team took the checkered flag in 12th place.  The successful run, which was the best finish of Fedewa's career at the track, led to another opportunity for the combination to compete together.

The weekend at Memphis (Tenn.) Motorsports Park should prove to be easier.  Fedewa and the team have one week of competition together under their belts, and though the transition was as smooth as can be expected, now that Fedewa has had the opportunity to get to know crew chief Tony (Rambo) Liberati and the team, he expects more good things to happen.

"I think this weekend will be easier just because I didn't even know half the guys names that are on the team going into Charlotte," said Fedewa.  "Now I've worked with them a little bit and worked with Tony.  We've kind of developed a better line of communication.  I think I have a little more confidence in everything, and everything that's going on.  I'm going to a track that obviously I like and I think we have a really good shot at winning at, so I think it will be an all-around better weekend for everyone."

Fedewa has posted impressive statistics at the .75-mile oval just outside of Memphis, Tennessee.  Fedewa has run each race since the Busch Series began to compete at the track in 1999.  In three starts, Fedewa has never finished outside of the top 10.  His best finish came in 2000 when he crossed the line in fifth after starting in 11th place.  In addition, he finished sixth last year and ninth in 1999.

Herzog Jackson Motorsports also has an interesting history at the track.  Never having finished lower than 14th, the team has run as well as eighth, which took place in 2000.  Oddly, in all three starts at the track, the team has qualified ninth.  There's really only one statistic that Fedewa and the crew are interested in this weekend though, and that's the notch they would like to add to the team's win column.

Looking ahead, next week will mark a milestone in Herzog Jackson Motorsports' NASCAR Busch Series history.  When the team takes the green flag at Atlanta Motor Speedway on October 26, it will mark its 100th career Busch Series start.
